“Dynasty” star Catherine Oxenberg has revealed the moment she found out her daughter India had been branded “like cattle” by the Nxivm sex-slave cult.
“A friend called to warn me that India was involved in a secret master-slave sorority in which women were put on a starvation diet and, in a secret ceremony, held down naked and branded on the pubic region with a searing-hot cauterizing iron — like cattle,” Oxenberg writes in her new book “Captive,” which is out Tuesday.
The brands, she writes, featured the initials of Nxivm founder Keith Raniere and his sidekick slave-master, “Smallville” actress Allison Mack.
A few weeks later, in May 2017, she says she asked the question “no mother should ever have to ask her daughter.”
“India … have you been branded?” Oxenberg recalls in the new tome, which documents her efforts to extract her young daughter from the upstate organization whose founder is now facing sex trafficking charges.
Her 26-year-old daughter admitted that she had.
“I’ve been branded. But why is that a problem? It was a good experience for me,” she recalls India saying.
“It’s a good thing because it’s … character building.”
That was the moment, Oxenberg writes, that she knew she had to do “whatever it took to save my daughter from the clutches of this vicious cult and get her back.”
