Brand Beckham could be going from Goldenballs to Glitterballs, as David Beckham’s son Brooklyn has been approached to appear on Strictly Come Dancing.
The Mail on Sunday can reveal that BBC bosses have opened talks to persuade the 21-year-old to take to the dancefloor, believing he would have huge appeal to younger viewers.
Sources close to the aspiring photographer say he received the call a fortnight ago.
However, the BBC are not the only suitors, as rivals ITV have approached his team with a proposal for him to star in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here
An insider said: ‘Brooklyn would be a dream signing for Strictly. He is being written about absolutely everywhere. He has a huge social media following and would raise the profile of the show, not just in the UK, but also in America where he has a lot of fans.
‘But more than that, imagine having Brand Beckham behind him. The issue, though, is that Brooklyn is a shy boy and, other than dancing at the odd party, he doesn’t have much experience.’
Brooklyn, the eldest of David and Victoria Beckham’s four children, may also be wary of the so-called ‘Strictly curse’ blamed for the relationship break-ups of those who take part.

Just last month he announced his engagement to Nicola Peltz, 25, an American actress and daughter of a billionaire investment tycoon.
They are currently planning their wedding and the speculation is that they will either opt for the exclusive Borgo Egnazia resort in Puglia, Italy, or somewhere near the Beckhams’ family home in the Cotswolds.
Strictly producers have struggled to attract celebrities for this year’s series despite raising their top fee to £60,000.
Former EastEnders actress Tamzin Outhwaite has agreed to take part, but actress Michelle Keegan and singer Jessie J have both turned them down.
Coronavirus means the show has been pushed back from August to October – and will be filmed without an audience for the first time in its 17-year history.
