After they went public during the awards ceremony, the couple was spotted in public much more frequently.

The two eventually collaborated on The Messy Truth VR Experience, which was released last year.

The virtual reality project placed viewers in several uncomfortable situations that reflect various social issues that its developers felt were in need of greater exposure and understanding.

For their efforts, Larson and Allan-Blitz, along with their collaborator Van Jones, were ultimately the recipients of the 2020 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Interactive Program.

In 2020, the couple spoke to Deadline and talked about how the project was meant to act as a tool for a gradual social change towards the perception of the issues that were covered.

Allan-Blitz specifically noted that virtual reality ‘has the potential to make the viewer believe what they’re seeing is real, so for us, using it to create empathy and understanding is the ultimate goal.’

Larson also expressed: ‘The project is about creating unity, not more division. When you are in the headset your brain believes that what you are seeing is real so it is important to us that their new memories are impactful but not traumatic.

‘I’m inspired to see how [The Messy Truth VR Experience] can impact others as it has impacted me,’ she added.
