Brad Pitt is seen in NYC the day after he credited Bradley Cooper for getting him sober: ‘And every day’s been happier ever since… I love you’
Brad Pitt was wearing several different colors as he was seen leaving his New York City hotel on Thursday morning.
The night before he won a Best Supporting Actor award for playing Cliff Booth in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood at the National Board of Review Awards Gala.
And in the 56-year-old star’s acceptance speech he thanked pal Bradley Cooper for helping him to face his drinking problem. ‘I got sober because of this guy. And every day’s been happier ever since,’ said the ex-husband of Angelina Jolie, with whom he has six children. ‘I love you, and I thank you,’ Brad added.

This is the first time he has credited the A Star Is Born actor/director with helping him out through one of his lowest times in his life.
In 2016 Jolie filed for divorce after an alleged incident on a private jet. The two have since been battling it out for custody and money. Along the way Brad admitted he had a drinking problem and was in therapy.
In September the Ad Astra star told the New York Times that he had a problem and that is why he spent a year-and-a-half in Alcoholics Anonymous.

And the award goes to: Cooper presented Pitt with the Best Supporting Actor award for his role as Cliff Booth in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
And he said he knew it was time to ‘remove his drinking privileges.’
‘I had taken things as far as I could take it, so I removed my drinking privileges,’ he said.
In AA he said ‘you had all these men sitting around being open and honest in a way I have never heard. It was this safe space where there was little judgment, and therefore little judgment of yourself.’

And he was glad that his addiction became public because he no longer had to feel shame.
‘It was actually really freeing just to expose the ugly sides of yourself,’ he said. ‘There’s great value in that.’
He also said he turned to drugs when fame hit: ‘In the ’90s, all that attention really threw me. It was really uncomfortable for me, the cacophony of expectations and judgments. I really became a bit of a hermit and just bonged myself into oblivion.’

Brad and Bradley looked close at the event on Wednesday.
Both guys skipped the red carpet before the star-studded event, but were later spotted palling around.
Cooper, 45, took the stage in a black suede three-piece suit with a grey dress shirt and no tie.
It’s all in the details: He finished the look off with an army green wool scarf and black sunglasses
He introduced Pitt, 56, who cut a sharp look in a navy blue suit with a matching collared shirt.
The guys recently hung out at last Friday’s AFI Awards, where the Cooper-produced film Joker was recognized.
Pitt later visited Cooper at his Manhattan apartment Tuesday, following the New York Film Critic Circle gala.
They were also reportedly there for each other amid their respective high profile breakups.
Back in August, they saw the LA Philharmonic Orchestra perform at Hollywood Bowl.
A source told The Sun: ‘They have been busy juggling work with tricky family situations this year, and finally they have some time to themselves to hang out and be there for each other.
