Ben Foden has admitted he owes his ex-wife Una Healy an apology after marrying Jackie Belanoff Smith ‘so quickly’ after their split.
The rugby player, 36, who is starring on Dancing On Ice, spoke about the breakdown of their marriage and how they have come to be on better terms after ‘shocking her’ with his whirlwind second wedding just two weeks after meeting Jackie, 36.
Ben accepted he ‘was very selfish’ to marry in 2020- only a year and a half after his marriage broke down with Una, 40.

‘Obviously, what I did was very selfish in regards to Una. I think it was a shock to her, me getting married so quickly,’ he told OK! Magazine.
‘Una and I hadn’t been together for a year and a half but I think what made it bad was it was such a big thing in the media and it was everywhere, so, I did owe her an apology for that and should probably have let her know a bit more about what was going on.’
Ben went on to say how he thinks he has got better and better’ with Una as they have worked to rebuild their fractured relationship for the sake of their two children Aoife, nine, and Tadgh, six.

Loved up: Ben tied the knot with his second wife Jackie Smith Foden in 2019 just two weeks after they met and welcomed their daughter Farrah the following year
The athlete said they clashed at the end of their relationship because she wanted to be in Ireland, while he ‘never did’.
Elsewhere in the interview, Jackie said she wasn’t worried at all about the Dancing On Ice curse.
The former England international player is paired with Robin Johnstone on the show.

Jackie said: ‘I look forward to the day when Ben actually cheats on me, because it would be hysterical to see the downpour of fire and rain that comes down on him… I’m kidding.’
She added he has ‘never made me feel paranoid or insecure’.
The couple are proud parents to their daughter Farrah, whom they welcomed in 2020.
Of plans to have another child, Jackie revealed they will try for a baby in summer and ‘hope it happens’.

It comes after Ben praised Una for raising their ‘loving and gentle’ children by herself, following their divorce in 2018.
The professional rugby player claimed it’s thanks to her that they turned out so well.
He told The Mirror: ‘I always doff my hat to Una. She’s raised the kids for the last couple of years on her own, and they’re great kids, very loving and gentle, and intelligent too – and they definitely don’t get that from me.
‘I’d like them to get into music and acting. They did an advert with Una for McDonald’s and were great in it.’
