Arsene Wenger makes football return as he plays in charity match

Arsene Wenger has made his return to football in a charity match in memory of Aldo Platini.

The match, which raised money for sick kids, took place in Nancy.

Michel Platini, French legend and son of Aldo, was also in attendance at the game which marked the opening of a stadium carrying the name of his father.

Wenger is yet to return to management after leaving Arsenal at the end of last season following a 22-year stint in north London.


The Frenchman has been linked with a host of jobs but is still enjoying a break from the dugout.

Wenger insists he could yet return to management after his exit from the Emirates.


The 68-year-old won three league titles and seven FA Cups during his time in the Premier League, also reaching the Champions League final in 2006.

Unai Emery succeeded Wenger over the summer.
