Are Congratulations in Order? Justin and Hailey Hold Hands in NYC After Wedding Reports

Is this the new Mr. and Mrs. Bieber? On Friday, Justin Bieber, 24, and Hailey Baldwin, 21, stepped out in NYC shortly after news broke that they tied the knot in a courthouse ceremony. The couple kept things casual as they held hands and made their way to their car. Hailey wore her sparkly engagement ring, while Justin’s left hand remained ringless.

According to People, Hailey and Justin got married in an NYC courthouse on Thursday afternoon, just two months after the singer popped the question in the Bahamas. “They went ahead and did it without listening to anyone,” an insider told the publication. However, Hailey later denied the reports on Twitter, writing, “I understand where the speculation is coming from, but I’m not married yet!”

Still, friends of the couple told the outlet that Hailey and Justin did indeed have a civil ceremony. “[Hailey] feels a civil ceremony and their real wedding are two separate things,” the source explained. “What happened at the courthouse is a courthouse thing — a legal thing. But marriage is two people making a vow before God and the people they love.”

A courthouse source also told E! News that Justin and Hailey got married in a back room after arriving to the courthouse at around 4 p.m. on Thursday. “Justin and Hailey told friends and family they were going to get paperwork and inquire about a marriage license, but decided to tie the knot right at the courthouse yesterday,” E! News reported. “No one knew about their plan. They thought it would be better that way so no one would try and talk them out of it. They wanted it to be a special moment just between the two of them.”

Hailey and Justin’s wedding ceremony is reportedly scheduled to take place in the singer’s native Canada sometime next week. Congrats to the happy couple!
