The Chase star Anne Hegerty, 60, was asked: “@anne_hegerty how many in the memory round do you think you could get correct?” Anne responded, admitting she doesn’t think she would be very good at it. She replied: “Not many. Very hard when it’s not words to memorise, at least for me.” The Twitter user responded: “The most I’ve got is 5. Love the programme. Blown away that The Governess has replied to me.”

Anne was also asked if she ever goes “mind blank” when quizzed on the spot by host Bradley Walsh, 58.
She replied: “Not really. Certainly it would be a very rare occurrence.”
The Twitter user replied: “Yes, you’re right! You’re too smart for that to happen!”
Elsewhere, earlier this month Anne addressed a rumour claiming Bradley is leaving the show.
“Thought Bradley was quitting The Chase,” the viewer wrote. “More money threw at him I suspect.”
Putting a stop to the assumption, she replied: “I’d ask where you got that idea from, but I assume you wouldn’t answer me.”
“Apologies, I thought I saw something on a news feed a while back that he was leaving,” they said. “Plus he got that Doctor Who job.
“P.S. Well done in the jungle, you done well!”(sic) they added.
Anne clarified the situation commenting: “There’s never been any suggestion that Brad was leaving.
“We all have other jobs on the side. Thanks for the kind words.”
Earlier this month, Anne reacted to unearthed pictures of her as a contestant on Mastermind in 1987.
Anne looked almost unrecognisable sporting an oversized multicoloured frock with a curly bob hairstyle and glasses.
A Chase independent fan site shared the throwbacks with the caption: “Anne appeared on the TV show ‘Britain’s Favourite Gameshows’, which was broadcast last Sunday.
“It also featured brief clips of her appearing on Mastermind – in January 1988 I believe.”
Anne replied: “Recorded late in 1987 – on the same night as the King’s Cross fire, as it happens.”
Addressing her appearance, she added: “I look pretty funny now!”
The Chase continues today at 5pm on ITV.
