And Just Like That’s season 3 renewal SLAMMED by fans – as viewers BEG writers to kill off ‘insufferable’ Che Diaz from ‘absolutely awful’ show
And Just Like That… was renewed for a third season on Tuesday – but fans slammed the decision to make more episodes of the ‘absolutely awful’ Sex and the City reboot.
The revival show features original stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, with Samantha Jones actress Kim Cattrall set to make a shock cameo in the second season finale after feuding with SJP for years.
Side characters like Che Diaz (Sara Ramirez) who memorably had an affair with married Miranda Hobbes – have received widespread criticism, with fans begging writers to kill off the non-binary comedian in the next season.
One fan wrote on Instagram: ‘Write off Che! I know they have them moving onto a new love but we have NO interest in seeing it play out.
Another penned: ‘Please remove Che from the series. They are an insufferable a**hole. We’re done. Thank you.

Others wrote: ‘Please let Che’s story have run its course. I don’t know how, but the writers managed to make them even more unlikeable this season.
‘PLEASE NO CHE! We all thought she’s ruining the franchise! STOP it feels so fake! NO CHE’, ‘Ditch Che. Please’ and ‘Everybody hates Che.’
Viewers also slated the show’s storylines and urged show creator Michael Patrick King to step down.
One fan typed: ‘I was the ultimate SATC fan. Have seen every episode 10x. Loved the first movie. Ever since, the show doesn’t know how to just end gracefully. It gets worse by the episode and I can’t believe the storylines are still getting drawn out.
Another wrote: ‘This show is THE WORST. I’ve seen better Hallmark Christmas movies than this show.
Others wrote: ‘As a huge fan of SATC, AJLT ran out of ideas. It’s so bad, ‘Let’s be honest the show is absolutely awful’ and ‘This season was trash! PLEASE GET BETTER WRITERS.’
Another penned: ‘You need better writers and get rid of MPK. He thinks he knows it all. As a long term SATC fan, the writing and stories have been dreadful. Go back to basics. A small group of friends and their lives, not side characters for side characters. And no more ‘comedians’.
Some fans praised the decision to renew the show, with one writing: ‘This season really feels like they’ve gotten their groove’ and ‘YES!!!! Season 2 has been excellent!

In a statement announcing the renewal, Max’s Head of Original Content Sarah Aubrey, said: ‘As we approach the highly anticipated season finale on Thursday, we raise our cosmos to [showrunner] Michael Patrick King and his magnificent team of writers, producers, cast and crew who continue to charm us, 25 years later, with dynamic friendships and engaging stories.’
Aubrey added: ‘We cannot wait for audiences to see where season three will take our favorite New Yorkers.’
The revival show features original stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, David Eigenberg, Mario Cantone, and many more.
Meanwhile, showrunner Michael Patrick King said: ‘We are thrilled to spend more time in the Sex and the City universe telling new stories about the lives of these relatable and aspirational characters played by these amazing actors.’
Fans of the original Sex and the City have had a love-hate relationship with the new revival, that has sorely been missing Cattrall’s sex-positive PR guru Samantha Jones.
In her absence, a host of new characters were introduced in the shape of Dr. Nya Wallace (Karen Pittman), Seema Patel (Sarita Choudhury), and Lisa Todd Wexley (Nicole Ari Parker).
Backlash: Fans slated the show on social media in droves

However, viewers were stunned to learn earlier this year that despite being extremely vocal about her desire to move on from the character Samantha, Cattrall had secretly agreed to return in a surprise cameo appearance.
‘It’s very interesting to get a call from the head of HBO saying, “What can we do?”‘ Cattrall told The View in June, before adding with cheeky smile, ‘And I went, “Hmmm… let me get creative.”
Cattrall’s rider was pretty simple (aside from a no doubt eye-watering pay check): She wanted original costume designer Patricia Field to dress her for the scene.
Cattrall will return for only one ‘cliffhanger’ scene, which she shot on March 22 in New York City, without seeing or speaking with stars SJP, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis. The scene was also shot without AJLT showrunner Michael Patrick King.
In the scene, Samantha, who has moved to London, will have a phone conversation with Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw.
The New York Post also revealed that Cattrall’s cameo was so secretive that her name did not even appear on the call sheet for the day, leaving people stunned at her presence.

Phenomenon: AJLT saw Carrie claim Samantha had cut her off and moved to London – due to fury at the writer firing her as a publicist – in a storyline Cattrall slammed for being inauthentic to the character
An insider said show staffers were ‘definitely shocked, very intrigued on how they’re gonna write this in – and very excited. She said she’d never do it! She said she’d never come back!’
It was claimed her scene was filmed in a town car in a parking garage near Silvercup Studios in Queens.
Samantha did feature in AJLT season one – but only over text message as Carrie repeatedly tried to repair their friendship.
