Orange Lipstick! Turquoise Hair! It’s Hard to Keep Calm About Taylor Swift’s Latest Music Video Looks
Taylor Swift just dropped a new music video for her single “You Need To Calm Down” and it’s full of incredible beauty inspiration — and we wouldn’t expect anything less. If the beauty looks from “Me!” were anything to go by, we knew we were in for a treat with this one.
Swift was joined in the video by a whole host of celebrities. There was the Queer Eye five, Ryan Reynolds, Laverne Cox, Ellen Degeneres, and former frenemy Katy Perry, to name a few — all of whom brought with them their best beauty game (here’s looking at you Todrick Hall).
Throughout the video, Swift switches hair colors multiple times: one style was a kaleidoscope of purple, blue, and pink that reminded us of a slushy drink in the best way. Then there was a ponytail with the ends dyed red that looks like she dipped her hair in ketchup (she was wearing a French fry costume, so go figure). Then there were the fabulous makeup looks, including a turquoise eye shadow and red lip combo that proved (yet again) that you can play up your eyes and lips at once without going overboard. And it wasn’t just Swift that got in on the beauty fun: Perry matched her lipstick to her bright orange hair, while Jonathan Van Ness wore an epic crystal crown and Laverne Cox had one seriously va-va-voom blowout.
