Brainteasers are a great way to stretch the mind and push one of the body’s most important organs to its limit.
They can come in many different forms, they can be analytical, observational, or mathematical.

While brainteasers may seem like a simple way to kill some time on your morning commute or in a waiting room, some experts have suggested they could have long-term benefits.
In the same way, running and cycling exercise the muscles in the legs to keep them healthy, brainteasers and other brain puzzles help keep the mind in tip-top health.
The healthier the mind, the less likely it will be to develop dementia or another neurological condition in the long term.
This isn’t to say brainteasers can stop someone from getting dementia, there are other factors which have a much bigger influence, but they could help keep it sharper for longer.
One of the major risk factors according to research by the University of Exeter, could be the Covid-19 lockdowns. Professor Anne Corbett said: “Our findings suggest that lockdowns and other restrictions we experienced during the pandemic have had a real, lasting impact on brain health in people aged 50 or over, even after the lockdowns ended.
“This raises the important question of whether people are at a potentially higher risk of cognitive decline which can lead to dementia.”
