Following in the footsteps of Taylor Swift and Kanye West before her, music legend Barbara Streisand has opened up about her beef with Apple.
But the 81-year-old hitmaker doesn’t have a problem with the company’s growing streaming service. Instead, the musician lodged a complaint with none other than Apple CEO Tim Cook after the spotted a major blunder.
During Monday’s (November 6) visit to the BBC studios, the Funny Girl star was interviewed by BBC Breakfast presenter Mark Savage following the release of her new memoir, My Name Is Barbra. The American actress and singer is known for Hollywood films such as The Way We Were, Yentl, A Star Is Born and Meet The Fockers.

But over the years, thousands of people pronounce the icon’s name incorrectly. The mum-of-one finally put an end to the accidental blunder when she found out that Siri also pronounced her name incorrectly.
In the interview with the broadcaster, the musician revealed how she went about changing the embarrassing blunder. She told him: “My name isn’t spelled with a Z. It’s Strei-sand, like sand on the beach. How simple can you get? Sand on the beach, Strei-sand.
“So anyway, I decided how do I change this? See, I like solving problems so I figured I better call the head of Apple, Tim Cook." After a lengthy discussion with the CEO, she confirmed that her name had been altered on Apple's virtual assistant.
She went on: "He had Siri change the pronunciation of my name to be correct. That’s one perk of fame, you know!” During the interview, Mark decided to check to see if the programme had updated by asking Siri who sings Papa Can You Hear Me?
The intelligent programme replied: "Barbra Streisand sings the song Papa Can You Hear Me" as Barbra cheered in the background. Later on in the interview, the singer confessed that she hasn't "had much fun" in her life and has made a vow to "have more fun" moving forward.
She told viewers of her plans to prioritise enjoying herself following a long and varied music and film career. Barbra explained: "I want to live life. I want to get in my husband's truck and just wander, go round, hopefully with the children somewhere near us when they come over.
"They love playing with the dogs, we have fun. I haven't had much fun in my life, tell you the truth, and I want to have more fun." The songstress also confessed that she avoids listening to music at home because it reminds her of work.

The musician confessed: "Music is work to me, meaning after I make a record, which I love making records, but what I have to go through to get it out is listening to it, mixing, listening to it, listening to it on different systems, it's work.
"I mean, it takes time. So by the time it's over, I never want to hear it again, until maybe 25 years later," she chuckled. Streisand is one of only a handful of people to hold the title of EGOT, the winner of an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony.
