Coleen Rooney said she was bracing herself for an "emotional" night at the screening of her Wagatha documentary in Liverpool.
She was accompanied by her footballer husband Wayne and eldest son Kai, 13, for the screening of Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story at the Everyman cinema in Liverpool on Wednesday, 18 October.
Her parents Colette and Tony McLoughlin and other family members were also there, along with footballers including Phil Jones and Jordan Pickford.
Coleen said: "I'm so excited. I think it will be emotional because there are some emotional things in there." She added: "Obviously I've watched it so I think I will be a bit nervous of what's going on around me and their thoughts on it but hopefully they all enjoy it."
The three-part series tells the story behind the social media post in which Coleen claimed that Rebekah Vardy was leaking information to The Sun newspaper.
When asked if she hoped Rebekah would watch the show, Coleen simply said: "That's up to her."
The mum-of-four admitted that deciding to film the documentary, which premiered on Disney+ on Wednesday, wasn't an "easy" choice. She shared: "I feel like now it's time to tell my truth and my story," continuing, "I feel like a massive cloud's been lifted. There was some really low points that I went through and I feel now I can breathe, I can move on with my life."
The 37 year old said she has a book coming out in November and then plans to move forward. She concluded: "Hopefully by Christmas I'm going to relax and have some time with the family."
Coleen had previously revealed she was “really shocked” at how “big” the reaction was to the post she made about Rebekah, which led to a high-profile libel battle.
In the post, she claimed that 41-year-old Rebekah was the source behind three “false” stories in The Sun, featuring fake details she had posted on her private Instagram stories to figure out who was leaking the information.
The fake stories Coleen planted featured her travelling to Mexico for a “gender selection” procedure, her planning to return to TV and the basement flooding at her new home.
Rebekah, wife of Leicester City footballer Jamie Vardy, sued Coleen for libel but lost the High Court battle after the judge found Coleen’s claims to be “substantially true”.
Discussing the public reaction to the post on BBC One’s The One Show, Coleen said: “I knew there’d be attention but not the level it got. I was really shocked at how big it got.”
