Beyoncé’s mom Tina Knowles just posted a heartwarming tribute to her daughter on Instagram, proving that a mother’s love never wanes. The “Break My Soul” singer turned 42 yesterday, and her mom celebrated by sharing a rare candid photo of Beyoncé with her three kids, who she shares with husband Jay-Z.
In the photo, which appears to be a throwback from one of Beyoncé’s earlier birthdays, she sits at the kitchen table with Rumi, now 5, sitting in her lap. Blue Ivy, now 11, stands behind her, and both girls are leaning forward with their mama to help her blow out the candles on her chocolate cake that is decorated with bees. Her son, Sir, now 5, is visible on the edge of the picture, sitting next to his mom at the table but looking down at something.
Rumi and Sir look like toddlers in the photo, with Rumi wearing her hair in two ponytails with boys and Sir having braids in his hair. Blue Ivy’s hair is pulled back at the front with her natural curls on display in a matching hairstyle to her mom. She is definitely Beyoncé’s mini-me!
In addition to the rare peek into Beyoncé’s home life, Knowles also shared a moving letter to her firstborn daughter.
“Screaming Happy Birthday to my daughter, my best friend, my confidant,” Knowles started her sweet message to Bey in the caption. “I thank God, for choosing me to be the vessel in which you traveled to get to this world.”

Knowles added that Beyoncé deserves “to have the happiest day ever because you give your heart and soul to the world.” She finished her heartfelt birthday message by revealing her adorable nickname for her daughter: “happy birthday my firstborn snoogams❤️.” Aww!

In a July 2022 interview with Oprah Daily, Knowles revealed that Rumi is a little fashionista — and her sister doesn’t always approve.
“It’s funny because Rumi loves fashion. She picks out her own clothes,” she said. “We recently went to Disneyland, and she put on her Mickey Mouse shorts. Then she wanted to put on a sparkly printed top, which had the same colors. It actually looked really cute. But her sister came in and Blue was like, ‘My mom would be mad because she’s doing too much.’ And Rumi said, ‘This is my style.’ She’s 5. I was impressed.”
“She reminds me so much of Solange when she was little,” she added, referring to Beyoncé’s younger sister. “She wore outrageous stuff, but she has an amazing sense of style. So you let them do their own thing.”
