Matthew Perry was spotted on what appeared to be an urgent shopping trip for some new threads last week during a public outing in Los Angeles.
The Friends alum stopped by popular shopping center The Grove last Monday afternoon for a fresh set of duds that he slipped into during a stealthy outfit change inside, exclusive DailyMail.com photos show.
Scruffy-looking Perry, 54, seemed intent on freshening up his look after arriving at the mall in a grubby pair of navy blue sweat pants, a gray long-sleeve t-shirt, red baseball cap and sneakers.
The actor was accompanied by his assistant to the Nike store, and later emerged in a whole different getup, sporting a brand new black Nike polo and shorts.

Perry, an avid tennis fan who has become a keen pickleball player of late, did however, opt to keep his hat and his original sneakers that also happened to be Nike.
His helper was seen following him out carrying other items and, presumably, Perry’s previous clothes, in a shopping bag.
The TV star celebrated his 54th birthday on August 19 and appears to be in far better health these days, having charted his path to sobriety in a recent best-selling memoir: Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing, released last November.
However, he does still smoke heavily, as evidenced by recent previous snaps of him puffing on cigarettes and his heavily stained orange index finger seen during Monday’s outing.
Last week’s trip marks Perry’s first public sighting in recent months. The actor, who lives in Hidden Hills, appears to be keeping a low-profile in the months after his book tour.

In his book, the Friends star laid bare the height of his terrible drug and alcohol addiction battle which nearly cost him his life.
Perry released his best-selling memoir, Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing, last November
He revealed that his colon ruptured as a result of his opioid addiction when he was 49.
Doctors gave him only a two percent chance of survival and he was in a coma for two weeks followed by months more in the hospital.
Perry required 14 surgeries to help repair all of the abdominal damage, and he admitted to having gone to rehab 15 times over the years in hopes of kicking his drug addiction.
At one point during his Friends career, he admits he was taking 55 Vicodin a day and was down to 128 pounds but yet he ‘didn’t know how to stop.’
He even revealed he would go to real estate open houses – not because he was interested in buying property but to see if he could steal drugs from medicine cabinets.
His book also raised some eyebrows when he appeared to have bashed Hollywood heartthrob Keanu Reeves.
Perry questioned actors like Reeves ‘still walks among us’ while peers such as River Phoenix and Chris Farley had died prematurely.
Perry wrote: ‘River was a beautiful man inside and out – too beautiful for this world, it turned out.
The actor, who played Chandler Bing on the NBC smash hit Friends, recently published his bestselling memoir Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing where he opened up about his extensive history with drug addiction
‘It always seems to be the really talented guys who go down. Why is it that the original thinkers like River Phoenix and Heath Ledger die, but Keanu Reeves still walks among us?’
Perry referred to Reeves a second time when reflecting on Chris Farley’s fatal overdose in December of 1997.
He issued an apology amid backlash for the comments.
An avid car enthusiast, Perry also has a growing collection of luxury sports cars and was last snapped cruising through Los Angeles in a custom built $114,000 Porsche.
The new set of wheels adds to his list of impressive rides, including a Porsche Panamera, Audi R8, BMW 6 series and Lincoln Navigator.
He also owns a $145,172 Aston Martin Vantage V8 Roadster and has been seen cruising around in it.
