Savoie was studying for a Ph.D in accounting at the University of Texas in Austin when she met Quaid
Quaid made tabloid headlines worldwide when he went public with Texas-native Savoie in 2019.
Just months after the relationship was revealed to the world, the pair announced they were engaged and tied the knot quietly a year later in Santa Barbara.
It is not clear exactly how the couple met. Savoie was studying for a Ph.D in accounting at the University of Texas in Austin at the time. The Traffic star, who is a native of the Lone Star State, owned a palatial mansion in the Texas capital until 2018.
In 2019, Quaid told The Guardian he met his future pride at a ‘business event.’ In the same interview, he said: ‘I didn’t go out looking for an age gap or someone really younger than me.’
Savoie is a native of Edwardsville, Illinois. A family friend told the Evansville Courier & Press that Quaid first met her family in 2019 while in Indiana to visit the UT graduate’s sister, Aimee.
According to her LinkedIn profile, Savoie graduated in 2021 having attained her undergraduate degree from Pepperdine University in Los Angeles in 2014 and a Master’s from Notre Dame in 2015.
Savoie is listed as a founding partner of Quaid’s production company Bonniedale Films on her LinkedIn page. She is also a certified yoga teacher.
Quaid is not her first celebrity romance. During her time at Pepperdine, Savoie was in a relationship with Entourage star Jeremy Piven.
In 2020, Quaid told People in an interview that the couple’s 40-year age gap ‘just doesn’t come up.’
‘We’re both Christians, and right from the start God has always had a hand in the relationship. I think that’s where the real strength comes from,’ the actor said in the same interview.
Quaid said their meeting was ‘love at first sight.’
‘I’ve been married three times and this is the final one, I know it is. I feel like I have a real partner in life,’ Quaid told The Guardian in 2019

He proposed while filming World War II epic Midway in Oahu, Hawaii. ‘It was kind of spontaneous. It was very much a surprise,’ he told Extra at the time.
They wed in Santa Barbara in June 2020, where the only witness was the pastor. ‘It was beautiful,’ Quaid told People. The original plan had been to be married in Hawaii and have a big party in Nashville but plans changed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
‘I’ve been married three times and this is the final one, I know it is. I feel like I have a real partner in life,’ he told The Guardian.
‘I was addicted to cocaine for quite a while,’ the Houston-born actor said in his recent Extra interview. ‘I went into rehab for that and got clear of that.
‘They say you need a higher power to overcome that.’
The Hollywood stalwart said he ‘spent a couple years physically recovering from all that.’
He said he has ‘always been’ religious, but ‘sometimes the lights were off’ for him spiritually.
‘I was running away from it a lot,’ he said. ‘I tried to do it my way for so long with other things you’re looking to fill that hole with.’

The record includes tracks such as Please Don’t Give Up on Me, What a Friend We Have in Jesus and On My Way to Heaven, the latter of which he says examines the years he spent grappling with addiction.
‘I had a band back then and it was the night that we were performing at the Palace Theatre in Hollywood and we got a record deal, but we broke up because I was just a mess,’ said Quaid, who portrayed singer Jerry Lee Lewis in the 1989 movie Great Balls of Fire.
He continued: ‘I went home and really had this white-light experience and I saw myself continuing down this road and being either dead or in jail or losing anything I really cared about.
‘So, I checked myself into rehab and gutted through it.’
