Jailed reality star Julie Chrisley has said she was menaced by a poisonous snake while in jail, as her husband Todd claims someone took a photo of him sleeping.
The couple, best known for TV show ‘Chrisley Knows Best,’ had been sentenced last November after being found guilty of a $30 million tax fraud case.
They are now serving out their combined 19-year sentence at facilities in Kentucky and Florida.
Jay Surgent, the couple’s lawyer, has now revealed that they are being tormented behind bars, which includes a snake entering Julie’s cell.
Speaking to Fox News Digital, Surgent said: ‘The living conditions are horrible, and it was reported to me that there was a poisonous snake that was got into Julie’s cell area that had to be embolized and taken out.’

Surgent continued: ‘As of this day she is sitting in 100 degree temperature with no air conditioning, and no one seems to care.
‘Todd Chrisley was singled out in reference to the non-processing of his Cares Act application.
‘Someone was allowed to take a photo of him while he was sleeping, and this is a result of his celebrity status.
‘Todd has no air conditioning, plumbing conditions are bad, there is mold and fungus everywhere, and again no one seems to care.’
Todd is currently in Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Florida, while Julie is situated at the Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
The celebrity couple were found guilty on federal charges of bank fraud and tax evasion and submitting false documents to banks to take out loans, reportedly more than $30million worth, to finance their opulent lifestyle.
They also used a production company to hide income from the IRS, lawyers argued.
Due to the nature of their crimes, they are not permitted to speak on the phone with one another for the entire seven years that Julie is locked up.

They are allowed to email, but the emails are ‘heavily’ guarded and monitored by authorities.
During their crime spree, they defrauded banks of $36 million to make fans think that they were already wealthy.
In a statement issued by the Department of Justice, they said: ”The Chrisleys spent the money on luxury cars, designer clothes, real estate, and travel — and used new fraudulent loans to pay back old ones.
‘After spending all the money, Todd Chrisley filed for bankruptcy and walked away from more than $20 million of the fraudulently obtained loans.’
Todd and Julie were convicted in June 2022 by a 10 person jury on charges including bank fraud, tax evasion, wire fraud, obstruction of justice and conspiring to defraud the IRS
Todd often boasted about his wealth on their reality show, including the two mansions that he owned worth $9 million, the $300,000 a year he spent on clothes and a vintage Corvette he purchased during their criminal investigation worth $250,000.
Todd and Julie were required to pay back $17 million prior to entering prison liquidated their wealth tremendously.
