More from Saha on Maguire
In the same Betfred interview, Saha also claimed that Erik ten Hag made the right decision to keep Maguire as Manchester United captain last season.
He suggested that it would have been "harsh" to have stripped the defender of the armband during the campaign.
"I believe it would have been harsh of Erik ten Hag to have stripped Harry Maguire of the captaincy during the season, but it’s a new era and I believe Harry will understand the decision because it makes sense to give the captaincy to a player that inspires, has the confidence of the manager and that starts almost every game.
"It would also be smart to have a captain that doesn’t attract so much attention from the media too."
Saha on Maguire future
Louis Saha has insisted that Manchester United defender Harry Maguire should look for the "logical step" and leave the club in order to boost his international career, he told Betfred.
"One thing about Harry is that he’s not lost his confidence in himself, which is good.
"You can see that he remains very professional, he’s focused, he can deal with a lot of criticism and he’s shown that he’s strong mentally.
"These are the traits that got him the captaincy at Manchester United
"Only Harry knows what he wants to do in his career, but I believe the logical step for him is to look for a club that respects him, respects his status and is going to give him the chance to play his way into England’s starting eleven at Euro 2024.
"Harry should be one of England’s biggest assets going into that tournament, so he needs to think about what he wants to achieve in his career because it’s not helpful being on the bench for Manchester United."

Transfer speculation Heat-ing up
Everton have “made an enquiry” to Manchester United about the possibility of signing veteran goalkeeper Tom Heaton.
Luton tried to sign Heaton earlier this summer, but the transfer was blocked by United manager Erik ten Hag.
Now Everton boss Sean Dyche is attempting to bring his old Burnley star to Goodison Park in a fresh twist to the Red Devils' goalkeeper crisis, according to the Daily Mirror.
Jordan Pickford, who has been linked with a switch away, has been well-established as the Toffees' No1.
But Asmir Begovic, who was Pickford's cover, has left the Merseysiders meaning they need an experienced option in reserve.
Luton are still keen on the 37-year-old and hope that the promise of regular action could entice him to Kenilworth Road but any switch looks unlikely until Ten Hag gets his house in order.

Mason Mount prediction
Chelsea legend Gus Poyet told SunSport's Kostas Lianos he is confident Mason Mount can succeed at Manchester United because the Blues dominated when the versatile midfielder was at his best but "suffered a lot" when he was absent.
It's probably the biggest surprise for me and Chelsea, the situation of Mount leaving.
But as always, we don't know the whole truth. We don't know why he didn't play a lot in the last six, seven months or eight months.
There were many things that weren’t clarified by anyone relating to Chelsea, so it's a big disappointment for me that Mason has left Chelsea and is gonna take his quality to one of their rivals

The hairdryer treatment
John Obi Mikel revealed he "s**t himself" when Sir Alex Ferguson gave him a death stare after he snubbed Manchester United.
I saw him one time, it was Manchester United against Chelsea.
I was coming out of the dressing room and as I was coming out of the door at the corner he was coming out and I just s*** myself.
I can't remember what happened, I think I tripped up on the stairs, he looked at me and he just walked out.
He started chewing his gum and just walked out. He didn't say a word.
