Britney Spears enjoys first vacation in over a year
Britney Spears claims she was “backhanded” when she tried to tap Victor Wembanyama on the shoulder for a photo as he walked through a hotel in Las Vegas on Wednesday night.
Hours before releasing her statement, the San Antonio Spurs star told reporters the singer had “grabbed” him “from behind” and insisted that his security had only “pushed her away”.
He did, however, add that he didn’t see the full incident as he was walking straight.
Britney, 41, has since shared her side of the story in view of her 55 million Twitter followers.
The Toxic singer described the moment as a “traumatic experience” and said she hoped the sportsman’s team would apologise.

She went on to say: “I was not prepared for what happened to me last night.
“I recognized an athlete in my hotel lobby as I was heading to dinner. I later went to a restaurant at a different hotel and saw him again.
“I decided to approach him and congratulate him on his success.
“It was really loud, so I tapped him on the should to get his attention.”
She also slammed Victor’s claim that she “grabbed him from behind” and said she simply tapped him on the shoulder.

Britney went on to say that the security guard had “backhanded” her in the face in front of the crowd which knocked her glasses off her face.
She added that she herself was swarmed by at least 20 fans that night and that her bodyguards didn’t react in the same way.
“This story is super embarrassing to share with the world but its [sic] out there already,” she continued in the tweet.
“However, I think it’s important to share this story and to urge people in the public eye to set an example and treat all people with respect.
“Physical violence is happening too much in this world.”
Las Vegas police confirmed they were called to the scene at the Aria hotel regarding a battery investigation, but no arrests have been made.
According to TMZ, a police spokesperson said in a statement: “On July 5, 2023, at approximately 11 pm, LVMPD officers responded to a property in the 3700 block of Las Vegas Boulevard regarding a battery investigation.
“The incident has been documented on a police report and no arrest or citations have been issued.
“No further details will be provided at this time.”
