NASA astronaut claims aliens ‘took interest’ in nukes and ‘stopped war’

A NASA astronaut who has stepped foot on the moon claimed that aliens took an interest in humanity when it developed nuclear weapons, adding that they also managed to stop the Cold War going nuclear.

Edgar Mitchell was the sixth person to ever step on the moon, but quickly garnered a reputation for being a bit of a conspiracy theorist.

The astronaut, who was the Lunar Module Pilot on Apollo 14, claimed that aliens took a deep interest in humanity’s development of nuclear weapons, and even managed to prevent the Cold War from escalating.

Mitchell focused on the White Sands Missile Range facility in New Mexico.

“White Sands was a testing ground for atomic weapons – and that's what the extraterrestrials were interested in,” he previouslytold the Mirror.

"They wanted to know about our military capabilities. My own experience talking to people has made it clear the ETs had been attempting to keep us from going to war and help create peace on Earth."

White Sands was where the first nuclear bomb was ever detonated, which took place in 1945. Officers at the site told him that aliens had shot down missiles flying over the site, he claimed.

"Other officers from bases on the Pacific coast told me their [test] missiles were frequently shot down by alien spacecraft.

"There was a lot of activity in those days,” he added.

The Daily Star reportedthat several people witnessed an American fighter jet in a dogfight with a “flying disc UFO ” that managed to evade proper detection by hiding “in the sun’s glare.”
