Kelsey Parker living through ‘pinch me moment’ as she shares big life moment at TRIC Awards

Kelsey Parker has revealed that she is living through a “pinch me moment” as she prepares to launch her debut book later this year.

Kelsey, who recently held a charity football match in honour of her late husband Tom Parker, shared the exciting life update during a red carpet chat from the TRIC Awards where OK! are the official media partner.

Looking sensational ahead of the event, alongside fellow attendees including Judi Love and former EastEnders star Danielle Harold, the doting mum of two opened up about upcoming months and explained how she was “super excited” for what’s to come.

“I’ve got a book coming out in October which I’m super excited about. It’s a massive pinch me moment. I didn’t think I’d ever be writing a book and it’s really emotional,” she said.

“I think it gives people an idea of who I actually am as a person. I feel like when you read the book you'll be like, ‘that’s Kelsey’. I’m quite matter of fact and my Instagram is just me being me, so I think people will read the book and realise that that’s just me all of the time.”

33 year old Kelsey, whose beloved husband Tom passed away in March 2022 following a two year battle against a rare type of brain tumour, a grade 4 glioblastoma, added that the book would cover events relating to her life in recent years.

“But I obviously share a lot and go into a lot of detail of what I've just lived through for the past three years,” she explained.

Meanwhile, Kelsey also opened up about her decision to organise a charity football match in Tom’s honour on Father’s Day earlier this month.

“I actually can't believe how well it went. When I had the idea to put this charity football match on I thought we’d get 500 people turn up but the crowds came in their thousands,” she said.

“We had about 3,000 people there and the guys took their time out to come along on Father's Day as well to celebrate. It was so incredible and it just was a day full of love, like a lot of the players left – like I’m good friends with Nathan Massey – and he said it took him nearly a week to come down from the high.”

She continued: “For him, it was the meaning behind it andhe felt connected to it. When the mascots came out he held Bodhi and Amazing Grace was playing and that’s a song that was played at the funeral, so Nathan was very overwhelmed.”

Speaking of the date, Kelsey added that she organised the event with her two children, Aurelia and Bodhi, in mind.

“I wanted something to do on Father’s Day. For me, it was thinking about how we could celebrate Tom,” she said. “I didn't want the kids to turn around and go Father's Day ‘mum, we’ve made these cards for dad’. It was about them celebrating.”
