Baby Shark bath toys recalled after children are wounded by falling on them

Following reports of children suffering lacerations and puncture wounds an estimated 7.5 million children’s bath toys based on Baby Shark have been recalled. American manufacturer Zuru confirmed it is recalling the full-size and mini versions of its robotic Baby Shark toys which has a hard plastic fin – due to it posing injury risks.

A reported 12 injuries have been caused by children sitting or falling on the full-sized Robo Alive Junior Baby Shark Sing & Swim Bath Toys.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission has said that the hurt children required stitches or medical attention in nine of the cases.

Zuru is also recalling the Robo Alive Junior Mini Baby Shark Swimming Bath Toys “out of an abundance of caution” despite no injuries being reported.

Customers have been told to stop using the toys immediately and cut off or bend the fin, write “recalled” on it, and receive a full refund by contacting Zuru with a photograph.
