Fans have mixed thoughts on North West waiting outside Monday’s Met Gala as Kim Kardashian walked the red carpet.
Netizens shared their reactions to a now-viral clip on TikTok that sees the 9-year-old standing by herself as her mother poses for photographers just feet away.
“Kim just left north on the street,” the caption reads.
It should be noted, however, that several handlers and bodyguards seem to surround North.
In the video, a voice is heard saying, “Wait, she’s so overwhelmed. She looks lost.”
Many commenters echoed similarly somber sentiments
“Seeing north be raised as a kardashian breaks my heart,” one wrote, while another added, “Awe poor baby.”
Another chimed in to say, “It’s all about Kim. North is second to the cameras. Very sad.”
Meanwhile, many others felt certain that North was safe given the presence of an apparent security team.
“Those are her bodyguards! She is not alone trust,” one person wrote.

“Y’all north is older [sic] enough to hang out by herself and she feels comfortable doing so bc she has literally 5 body guards surrounding her lol,” another individual remarked.
While speaking to Vogue on the red carpet, Kardashian, 42, said that North was by her side as she got ready for fashion’s biggest night.
“I just wanted to have a good time. I took a shot before I came with my sisters [Kendall and Kylie Jenner]. My daughter was in the room with me,” she told co-hosts Derek Blasberg and Chloe Fineman.
The Skims founder — who flaunted her famous physique in a custom Schiaparelli dress made mostly of pearls — mentioned that North enjoyed when her gown began falling apart on the way to the glamorous event.
“Some [pearls] popped on the way and I told my daughter to grab them all,” she revealed. “They’re real pearls and she was putting them all in her purse.”
But the elementary school student’s fun seemed to stop there. The Skims founder admitted North was “actually in the car” as she and the Jenners descended upon Manhattan’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Evidently, she needed a breath of fresh air.
In addition to North, Kardashian shares son Saint, 7, daughter Chicago, 5, and son Psalm, 3, with ex-husband Kanye West.
