Some parents rely on kids’ menu coloring pages or iPads to keep their little ones happy at a restaurant, but not Kate Hudson. She has something even better to prevent her 4-year-old daughter Rani Rose from getting bored: her delightful parents, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell!
The family went out to eat last night, and they shared a sneak peek of the evening’s festivities on Instagram. It just proves (once again!) that Goldie and Kurt are the coolest grandparents around.
A post shared by Goldie Hawn (@goldiehawn)
“Working on our communication skills 🎭,” The First Wives Club star captioned the video, likely taken by Kate. Goldie and Kurt are sitting next to each other at an outdoor patio, each with a puppet on their hands. Kurt has Goofy, which he waves around and busts into laughter. Goldie, who has Donald Duck, is able to keep it a little more together for the impromptu puppet show as she makes a quacking noise.
The two start play fighting with their puppets as Rani watches on. It’s absolutely adorable! Also — can they make their own kids’ TV show, because that would be a hit for sure!

Someone else wrote, “Imagine having dinner and seeing this at the next table ✨.” Wouldn’t that be amazing?
“Y’all make me smile so much 😍,” added someone else.
“The best grandparents ever!!! 😂😂😂” another said.

Goldie & Kurt Have Seven Grandkids
Goldie has three children — Oliver Hudson, 46, and Kate, 44, with ex Bill Hudson, and Wyatt Russell, 36, with longtime partner Kurt Russell — and seven grandchildren. Their grandkids include Kate’s kids Rani, Bingham, 11, and Ryder, 19; Oliver’s three kids, Rio, 9, Bodhi, 13, and Wilder, 15; and Wyatt’s son Buddy Prine, 2.
In a March 2023 cover story with Variety, Goldie shared the life lessons she wants to pass on to her grandkids.“You’ve got to work for a living, stay compassionate and stay realistic,” she told the outlet. “And I’m passing that on because that was what my father taught me: Stay in reality. Don’t get taken away with everything. The rest of it is up to them.”
The Overboard star went on, “Being there for them and knowing that they’re going to have to work stuff out themselves, as hard as it is.”

Goldie Hawn & Kurt Russell Are Always Having Fun
Last month, Kurt turned 72, and Kate and Rani were right there with him to help him celebrate.
“Always a double fun day in our family!” the Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery star wrote on Instagram. “St Patrick’s day and Pa’s birthday! Love this man so much!”
Kate also shared a video of Kurt getting cake and asking Rani to help him blow out his candles.
Whether they are acting together, walking the red carpet, or hanging out with their grandkids, Kurt and Goldie are always the most fun people in the room. And they are just so darn cute as grandparents!
