I’ve mastered how to stop my baby from crying without lifting a finger & mums are hailing how it works like a charm too | The Sun

A MUM has shared the adorable way she stops her two-month-old baby from crying in seconds – and it's all to do with music.

The parent, named Melissa, insisted that behind this magic trick was a tune she used to listen to during her pregnancy with her son, Jackson.

To prove this, Melissa, from the UK, shared a clip online, which sees her child crying in her arms.

As she cradled the baby, the mum spoke to Amazon Alexa device and asked it to play one hip hop tune – Get Low by Lil John.

The second the music began playing, the two-month-old instantly stopped crying, lifting his head up in confusion.

The heart-warming moment was complete with the mum tuning in and showing off her best dance moves whilst the baby was relaxing.

According to Melissa, the catchy tune ''gets him everytime [sic]'' and Jackson was fast asleep by the end of the song.

''POV: Your baby has great music taste,'' the mum chuckled in the now-viral clip.

As reported by the Independent, this hasn't always been the case – at first, the baby was not a fan of Get Low.

“I used to play this all the time in my third trimester to try and get Jackson head down and engaged… it did not work haha!''

''On HIS WEDDING DAY, this will be your mother son dance and play this video in the background.''

A second said: ''It literally took him two beats and he was like THERE IT IS.''

''He was like oh this is my jammmmm [sic],'' someone else joked.

Meanwhile, other parents flocked to comments to share the tracks that soothe their babies – and there were various styles to suit each taste.

“Mine stops immediately when ‘Life is a Highway’ comes on lol. We watch Cars a lot,” a viewed revealed.

''My daughter loved Harry Styles for some reason lol. So much so [that] I ended last year in top 5 per cent of Spotify listeners for him,'' a mum penned.

During an interview with Today.com, Melissa claimed that she and her husband, Zach, played the song in their house, while she was expecting Jackson.

“I listened to it a lot in the latter half of my pregnancy because I was trying to get him low, and then I listened to it on repeat a good few times a day for probably three, four weeks on end,” she said.

Although she does play the song at least once or twice a day to get Jackson to fall asleep., she didn't expect Get Low to be the one that calms him down.

After going viral, Melissa also opened up about how much she’s loved seeing parents sharing the songs that soothe their little ones.
