Family slammed after photo of their outing at beauty spot goes viral – can you tell why? | The Sun

A FAMILY has been slammed after a photo of their outing at a beauty spot went viral online for the wrong reasons.

The ignorant Aussies were snapped amid their "selfish act" that left other bushwalkers fuming.

The photo showed the family of at least five hogging a viewing platform at Wilsons Promontory National Park, Victoria.

They are seen decked out with camping chairs and a picnic spread, totally consuming the area and blocking photographers and other hikers from getting a glimpse.

The snapper posted the image on Reddit, which read: "This family taking up an entire sightseeing platform so nobody else can take photos.

"It’s a long weekend, so Wilsons Promontory was very busy.

"A lot of people missed out on great photos and views because these people wanted it for themselves.

"As I walked past, a guy nearby said 'That’s just f***ing rude'."

The national park is located on the southernmost point of mainland Australia and is a hotpot for tourists.

According to Parks Victoria, the area gets "extremely busy over summer" and visiting cars have to be limited.

However, one Gippsland local said it was not uncommon to see selfish acts at the destination.

The man said: "I’ve seen this happen before, I walked up and took photos.

"They then realised they were in the way, apologised, moved a little and we had a chat about the weather.

"People do dumb s**t all the time without taking into consideration other people."

Other social media users claimed the family’s act should have been reported to the ranger.

"This is what park rangers are paid for… you call them up like the police and they come and fix the problem," one said.

"The Parks Victoria call centre is manned every day except Christmas and there’s also a direct Wilsons Prom line to talk to the staff at the campsite," another added.

Another family photo taken by the sea in Melbourne, Australia, left viewers stunned when they spotted a chilling detail in the background.
