Are your kids cheating on homework using AI? Parents given fresh ChatGPT warning

Hundreds of kids across the UK are using ChatGPT AI to get 'help' on their homework—causing a huge headache for teachers and parents alike.

According to new research by social media app Yubo, almost half (46%) of 'Gen Z' kids that have heard about ChatGPT admitted to using the AI service to help with their school work.

An additional 46% of school leavers aid they'd consider using the controversial technology to get free help with their uni or college applications.

Despite how widespread kids' use of ChatGPT is, only 23% of those surveyed said their school or uni had spoken to them about it.

The use of ChatGPT to cheat on exam papers is becoming an increasing concern for schools.

In New York, the AI tool cannot even be accessed by any school device or internet network, in a bid to clampdown on cheaters.

Jenna Lyle, a New York education department spokesperson, said: "Due to concerns about negative impacts on student learning, and concerns regarding the safety and accuracy of content, access to ChatGPT is restricted on New York City Public Schools' networks and devices."

ChatGPT is a sophisticated AI chatbot tool that can generate detailed, human-like text answers and even entire essays.

Since being added to Bing search, the technology has proven massively controversial and has even been accused of being 'unhinged' after some creepy conversations with users.

It uses countless data points and real-world text information to write answers and respond to users in a human-like way.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk even weighed in on ChatGPT, warning people that it could 'go haywire and kill everyone'.
