I'm investigating the woman who claims to be Madeleine McCann – I will reveal her true identity | The Sun

THE detective investigating the woman who believes she may be Madeleine McCann has vowed to do everything she can to reveal her true identity, The Sun can reveal.

Julia Wandelt, 21, from Poland, went viral after suggesting on social media that she may be missing Maddie, who disappeared while on holiday in Portugal in 2007, aged three.

Now Dr Fia Johansson, a private detective and psychic medium, has launched an investigation into Julia's case and says she will leave no stone unturned as she searches for the truth.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun, Dr. Johansson revealed how she has sent a team of investigators to Poland to try and find answers.

"We are doing everything we can to find out the truth of Julia's background and find out her real identity," she said.

"It has been a very challenging investigation for me and my team.

"We are investigating her family, her background, people she went to school with, everything we can think of.

"What we found after some digging into this is that she overheard her mom saying something along the lines of 'I don't know why we have this girl, she has always been a troublemaker since we took her'.

"Since then she started to question what was going on and whether her parents were her true parents.

"Then she found a picture of a man who she claims had raped her as a child.

MADDIE CLAIMS

Family of woman claiming to be Madeleine McCann 'refuse to take DNA test'

"And when she looked into it the picture looked like the same man as one of the suspects in the Madeline McCann case.

"It very much concerned her and she wondered why her family would keep this picture and how he was connected to them.

"Julia started researching Madeline and noticing more and more similarities."

Julia has been sharing her story on social media where she claims she was sexually abused by a German paedophile, who was a suspect in the Madeleine McCann case.

She also points out she has moles in similar positions to Madeleine and a marking in her eye, similar to Madeleine's coloboma, which means her pupil is a different shape.

Dr. Johansson, who has worked with law enforcement on several high profile cases in the US, told The Sun she is trying to persuade Julia’s Polish family to provide a DNA test to solve any mystery over the girl’s parentage but so far they have refused.

The California-based private detective – also known as the Persian Medium – says the DNA test would be the easiest way to solve the case – without having to cause any disruption to the McCann family.

"We are still doing everything we can to try and get a member of Julia's family to take a DNA test because that could solve this once and for all," Dr. Johansson said.

"If Julia is their biological child why not just take the test?

"We are also pursuing other avenues in the investigation and looking closely at the evidence Julia believes she has."

Dr. Johansson said she is also doing her best to keep Julia safe – after her social media claims attracted a large amount of online abuse.

"At the end of the day, Julia has never said she is Madeleine. She said she has some questions about her family background and she thinks there's a chance she could be Madeleine," Dr Johansson said.

"If it turns out she is not Madeleine she still deserves answers and I will still help her to find out her true identity.

"My team is trying to look after Julia as she has been upset about the number of nasty comments online.

"My role is to make sure that this young woman who has asked for help is helped and that she is safe.

"Right now, we don't have any reason to believe she has made these claims up, but if she has we will find out.

"Of course, we also have to respect the privacy of Madeleine's family.

"They need to protect themselves from claims like this – if it comes back that Julia is not Madeleine then 10,000 other girls could come through TikTok saying they are Madeline so they have to be cautious.

"That is why it is so important that we find the truth."

Dr. Johansson says she realised she had psychic gifts when she was seven and has worked with law enforcement agencies around the world to help locate the bodies of missing people, solved cold cases and even had wrongly convicted people released from prison.

She told The Sun in a 2020 interview how she had used her "gifts" to help a member of theRoyal Family escape a blackmail plot.

In 2019 the psychic made a prediction that Madeleine McCann was still alive and would discover her real identity.

The disappearance of Madeleine in 2007 remains one of the biggest unsolved cases in British history.
