Phillip Schofield lost his cool in the This Morning studio alongside Holly Willoughby as the pair were joined by royal expert Camilla Tominey to speak about King Charles III's upcoming Coronation in May.
GB News journalist Camilla, 44, explained to hosts Phillip, 60, and Holly, 41, that King Charles III may be the first monarch of all time to be publicly anointed with holy oil at his Coronation.
Going into detail about Charles' Coronation, Camilla said it is set to take place in a "transparent canopy" to give the public a glimpse for the first time.
However, when the broadcaster said the word "canopy", she accidentally pronounced canopy as a "canape" on camera.
Holly also referred to it as a "canape" during their chat about the monarch, but Phillip couldn't sit there and take it for much longer as he showed frustration by throwing his head into his hands.
"It's canopy! I let it go three times! It's canopy! Not canape!" Phillip said.
Phillip's co-host Holly was seen in fits of laughter before she made light of the situation by adding: "I would prefer a canape rather than a canopy!"
Dancing On Ice host Phillip then cheekily responded: "He's got a canape over her head?! What?"
For the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, a gold cloth canopy was held over her head during the most important aspect of the ceremony.
But when King Charles III is officially crowned King in May, the public may be able to see it for the first time on camera.
Charles, 74, the royal family and the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, will gather at Westminster Abbey on Saturday May 6 for the "solemn religious service".
And despite the revelatory release of Prince Harry's memoir Spare, and his and Meghan Markle's Netflix docuseries, Charles has reportedly asked Welby to broker a deal to allow his youngest son Prince Harry to attend the ceremony.
Charles, Prince William, 40, and Kate Middleton, 41, are yet to comment on the claims made by both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in the book and Netflix show.
While Charles wants Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, to be there, it is believed his eldest son William has reservations about Harry and his wife Meghan attending the ceremony after his allegations against him and the family in Spare.
In one explosive chapter, Harry alleged his older brother William physically attacked him at his London home of Nottingham Cottage in 2019.
A source added that the Prince of Wales is concerned his brother may overshadow the event by using it as a “stunt”.
They said: "The issue of substance is whether they attend the Coronation, and if they do, under what terms and conditions.
"The family is split, and all the indications are that Harry is being advised to agree to nothing at this stage and 'play it long' right up to the last minute, which is making negotiations with him very difficult."
