Kim Kardashian shares that a plant-based diet helps with 'stress'

Kim Kardashian, 41, shares that a plant-based diet helps with ‘mood, stress’… though she does have ‘cheats days’ that include pizza and donuts

Kim Kardashian has been on a plant based diet for several years.

The 41-year-old reality TV star has said on her show, The Kardashians, that the diet helps her stay slender; the beauty is currently at her very thinnest after welcoming four kids.

But on Friday the SKIMS founder told her sister Kourtney Kardashian’s website POOSH that the diet also helps keep her psoriasis flareups down and her stress levels.

The star talked to POOSH about her experience with plant based eating.

‘I can’t exactly remember how I got into plant-based, but I know I watched documentaries during quarantine that made me want to try again,’ she said.

Her favorite dish is plant-based tacos and her ‘treat day’ choice is ‘pizza, for sure. And if I’m in the mood for something sweet, I love donuts.’

The beauty is also into sea moss smoothies.

WHAT IS PSORIASIS?

Psoriasis is a skin disease that causes a rash with itchy, scaly patches, most commonly on the knees, elbows, trunk and scalp, per the Mayo Clinic.

Psoriasis is a common, long-term (chronic) disease with no cure. It can be painful, interfere with sleep and make it hard to concentrate.

The condition tends to go through cycles, flaring for a few weeks or months, then subsiding for a while. Common triggers in people with a genetic predisposition to psoriasis include infections, cuts or burns, and certain medications.

‘The sea moss smoothies are great because they’re very anti-inflammatory. I try to eat as many anti-inflammatory and antioxidant foods as possible,’ said Kim.

The diet has also made her ‘more mindful about how what I put in my body affects me, not just psoriasis but also my mood, my stress levels, my energy, everything.’

And she has other tips for dealing with psoriasis.

‘I’ve found that putting ointment or cream on the bad areas and then wrapping them in Saran Wrap helps.

‘But obviously, that can only be done in certain areas,’ said the ex of Pete Davidson.

And she had advice for people dealing with psoriasis.

The SKKN founder shared: ‘You have to get to a place where you just feel comfortable and own it. Be able to realize it’s a part of you.
