Grey’s Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey will return to screens this week for the second outing of his latest TV project, Sky’s Italian financial drama Devils. Season two will see Patrick’s stock trader Dominic Morgan tackle another money crisis while Massimo Ruggero (Alessandro Borghi) determines where his loyalties lie, and their complicated feud could continue well past its second instalment.

Patrick and Alessandro have confirmed they’re both happy with the conclusion of Devils season two and can see how Dominic and Alessandro will continue.

The Italian thriller will return this Friday and bring the New York London Investment Bank up to speed with the pivotal Brexit referendum.

Season two will shine a light on the financial impact of the vote while continuing to explore the traders’ rich and often scandalous inter-personal lives.

Having been heavily involved in the direction of the series, Devils’ two co-leads revealed they were incredibly pleased with this outing’s season finale.

At a press conference for the launch of season two, Patrick confirmed: “I found it really satisfying the way it ends.

“Because you could see how it could continue. But it’s the arc of the overall characters that I found the most fascinating.”

The first season concluded with a number of pieces still in play after Massimo climbed his way back up the ladder to become CEO.

Although the Italian trader is back on top, he’s still unsure which members of his team are completely loyal.

Meanwhile, Sofia Flores (Laia Costa) still blames the death of her brother on Dominic, who faces competition of his own from Jeremy Stonehouse (Michael Nouri).

After their showdown in season one, Patrick teased even more conflict to come when Dominic and Massimo reach the end of the new season.

“For Dominic, there’s a nice moment where he says, ‘Okay, and now we begin again,’” he revealed.

“Which is always about renewal. The beautiful thing about nature is it’s always a cycle. There’s fall, everything gets cold, and then spring is an emergence.”

“That’s what’s beautiful about this season, we do all four seasons.”

His screen partner Alessandro was also eager to return for more instalments once Devils season two concludes on a high note in a number of weeks.

He explained: “We were part of this creative process since the very beginning, so we are absolutely happy about this proposal. So it’s not really a surprise for us.

“At the end, without any spoilers, the second season ends just like I wanted it to end. For me and for the characters.”

A third season is yet to be officially confirmed by Sky, but Vice President of Programming for Sky Italia Antonella d’Errico seems to already be making plans for more episodes.

“Devils two, and hopefully Devils three and Devils four, has a great deal of potential,” she told press.

“It’s a series that has the power of a great saga, and, for Sky, this is very important.”

Finance buffs and drama fans won’t want to miss out on this week’s premiere, and an announcement for season three may soon follow if enough viewers tune in.

Devils season 2 premieres Friday, April 29, 2022, at 9pm on Sky Atlantic with all episodes available via NOW and Sky On Demand.
