You'll soon be able to send polls to your WhatsApp group chats thanks to a new feature being added to the encrypted messaging app.
Leaked screenshots from the WhatsApp beta programme show that the poll feature will let users create poll questions and add up to 12 options for others to choose from.
This means you'll be able to democratically decide what takeaway to order in your houseshare, or what pub you want to meet your mates at on the weekend.
The feature, which is under development, is still yet to be confirmed for the app, but update notes show that WhatsApp is laying the groundwork for polls.
The news was announced by WABetaInfo, a dedicated WhatsApp insider blog which provides regular updates on the future of the world's most popular encrypted messaging app and the many unusual features being trialled on it.
WABetaInfo explains: "You can read that it is possible to add up to 12 possible options and while you are creating them, you can also move an option to a different position.
The ability to create polls is not available since it’s under development, but you can see this is another step forward.

How to test out WhatsApp beta features
WhatsApp is constantly testing out new experimental features via its beta programme, which is available to try on both iPhone and Android devices.
To sign up, follow these steps:
- Open WhatsApp and tap the three dots, then head to 'More Options'
- Tap Linked Devices
- Hit 'Multi-device beta'
- Tap 'Join beta'
If you're on an Android phone, you can also open the Play Store app and search 'WhatsApp'. Once you get to the product page, scroll down and you should see options to join the beta testing programme.
The beta programme is not always open to new participants, so it's worth checking back regularly if it won't currently let you sign up.
