Doctors spoilers: Challenges for Al in his new role

The Mill is all change next week, at least for Dr Al Haskey (Ian Midlane), who has made the switch to working at Sutton Vale and his first day is all about trying to fit in.

A nightmare begins for Al when his car breaks down, forcing him to call Jimmi Clay (Adrian Lewis Morgan) to pick him up.

Not only is Al having a nightmare, but his colleagues as well when he finds Rosie Colton (Janice Connolly) with computer problems.

Linda Closter (Norma Atallah) arrives with a variety of symptoms and is unhappy with her doctor’s shoes.

Al leaves Linda in surprise when he suggests she gets tested for hyperthyroidism, something her doctor had not mentioned.

While on the job helping with the IT problems, we meet Bix Banton (Jon Ramm) who has an eye on Rosie.

But it is Rosie who apologises for her unprofessional behaviour. Al isn’t fussed though as Rosie tries to explain to him that Linda is a timewaster and her previous doctor gave her too much time.

Rosie deduces that Linda is lonely but can Al get to the bottom of this mystery

Back at The Mill, Bear Sylvester (Dex Lee) agrees to pay Valerie Pitman (Sarah Moyle) and Karen Hollins (Jan Pearson) overtime in the event that they take on extra work.

Elsewhere, Dr Zara Carmichael (Elisabeth Dermot Walsh) reassures Luca McIntyre (Ross McLaren) and Ruhma Carter (Bharti Patel) that they will not be included, but they will be compensated in the event they do need to go over.

But will it all go as smoothly as Zara hopes?

Doctors airs these scenes Tuesday March 8 at 1:45pm on BBC One then 7pm on BBC Two.
