A family claims that their chicken had ruffled a few feathers at the Pentagon after a CCTV camera at the top-secret US base caught the chicken on camera.
The chicken, who owner Jessica Ark says is named "Baby," had been missing since October and was caught on camera on January 31.
Speaking to The US Sun, the Hawaii-based chicken owner says the missing bird "had the personality and mood" to run away.
Ark said: "She was the boss around our house and immediate neighbourhood. Just by her stance alone and colouring, if that's the chicken found, I wouldn't be surprised if it was 'baby,' whom was named… by our youngest daughter."
The chicken was last seen in October when a moving truck was unloading household goods, Ark says.
Video footage shows the two pets wandering around near the moving truck while movers tended to the items, and according to Ark, Baby has not been seen since.
Animal Welfare League of Arlington officers were called to the Pentagon on January 31 after the chicken was caught trying to sneak through security.
In a post to their Facebook page, officers said: "Apparently, the answer to 'why did the chicken cross the road' is… to get to the Pentagon!"

The statement continued: "Very early this morning, this chicken was caught sneaking around the security area at the Pentagon (we're not kidding) and our officers were called to come pick her up."
The family's other chicken, Rainbow, was apparently unsettled during the absence of their fowl friend with Ark saying Rainbow was "not settling so easily at night" while waiting for Baby to return.
Ark said that the feathered duo were "inseparable" and often led other packs of chicken around "searching for food".
Baby was dropped off at a local animal shelter, where t-shirts with the hashtag "#pentagonchicken" featured.
