Molly-Mae recalls her terrifying breast cancer scare and finding lump the 'size of a golf ball'

MOLLY-MAE Hague has recalled the moment she found a lump the "size of a golf ball" on her breast.

The 22-year-old had surgery in September to remove the lump after a biopsy revealed it had gown in size and initially feared it could be cancer.

Fortunately for the Love Island star the mass was benign.

Reflecting on her health, Molly-Mae took to her Instagram Stories on Monday and discussed the traumatic time as she answered a fan who said she had also recently found a lump.

The TV star shared: "This is obviously a really serious one. I'm really sorry that you found a lump. I know it can be so scary. I was literally in bed when I found mine.

"I was like lying in bed with Tommy [Fury] and sort of lying really far back and sort of went like that [cupped side] on my boob and I literally felt it.

"Honestly, I think when you find a lump you sort of think, 'how have I not felt this before?'

"It must have come around so quickly, how have I not noticed it before? Mine was literally, it felt like a literal golf ball. It felt huge.

"Actually at first they recommended that I didn't have the lump removed at all.

"They said it was something called a fibroadenoma and it's benign and not serious, but I think that as a woman to have to just live with a huge lump in your boob, for me it just didn't sit right."

Molly-Mae said that she kept pushing to have the lump removed and captioned the clip: "Check your boobs!"

She added: "I think when you know something is not right with your body you just know and I didn't want to just sit and wait for years to come for the lump to potentially turn into something sinister."

It comes after Molly-Mae previously had surgery to remove the 'beign' lump in her breast and a separate mass in her finger.

In September, Molly posted from her hospital bed alongside Ellie Bellie – the stuffed elephant familiar to viewers of the 2019 series of Love Island.

The star wrote: "I spoke about a lump I found in my boob on a recent vlog. Well I had it removed today. Check your bodies people.”

Sharing a picture of her bandaged up hand, she said: “Also had a lump removed from my finger that I’ve spoke about a few times too.”

The entrepreneur had a difficult run of things health-wise in 2021 having had a potential cancerous mole removed, a biopsy on a lump in her breast and was diagnosed with endometriosis.

HITTING BACK

In the wake of her recovery, Molly was forced to hit back at a troll who claimed she was making up her ailments for attention.

Sharing her frustration, Molly said: "Obviously I've been having some many things wrong with me like over the last six months that I actually saw someone DM last night saying they think I have Munchausen's.

"No comments can get to me right – but Munchausen's if I remember correctly is a condition where you basically make up illnesses you have and you make up things that are wrong with you or convince yourself into believing your ill that much that you actually become ill.

"And someone DMed saying I have that. I was like, 'what?' People actually believe," she continued.

"How could I make up the fact I have a lump in my boob and a lump in my finger and I had a mole that was potentially cancerous a few months ago and I have endometriosis?"

"These are not things I can make up. Trust me, if I couldn't have these things I really, really wish I didn't have them.

"I don't know why I'm ranting but it really got to me last night because I was like, 'how could somebody be thinking I'm making this up?'"
