FORMER Liverpool and Newcastle star Jose Enrique has given an update on his recovery from brain surgery.
The 32-year was diagnosed with chordoma, a rare type of tumour that usually occurs in the bones of the skull base and spine, but his was found behind the eye.
Enrique underwent a nine-hour operation in Spain last June.
The former left-back, now working as an agent, posted a host of pictures on social media to keep fans updated on his progress.
The set of pictures included him undergoing proton therapy which helps to destroy the cancerous cells as he fights to recover from the rare condition.
Enrique also shared an inspirational message to his 274,000 followers on Instagram.
