THESE blundering contractors won't be going top of the class after they incorrectly painted the word 'shchool' on a road – outside a top SCHOOL.
The road workers were laying new tarmac and safety markings when they made the embarrassing clanger.
They have been now mocked for accidentally spelling the word as 'shchool' outside Truro High in Cornwall.
The establishment is one of the top-performing private girls' schools in the country.
Western Power Distribution have blamed the mistake on sub-contractors the Kier Group.
A spokesman said: "Western Power Distribution would like to apologise for the mistake made to the wording outside of the school, which we can only assume was human error.
"Our contractors, the Kier Group completed the reinstatement works which involved the laying of new tarmac as well as replacing missing letters on the road surface.
"We have taken this up with Kier who will rectify this mistake as a matter of urgency."
