Leak ‘confirms’ crossover between Fortnite and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Fortnite is well-known for its unexpected crossovers, which have brought much-loved characters like Spider-Man and Naruto as well as real-life icons like Ariane Grande and The Rock, to the game.

Players have been anticipating the next big Fortnite crossover – and a leak suggests that something big is a brewing between Fortnite developers Epic Games and film studio Paramount.

This collaboration could mean several hit characters under Paramount could be coming to the game. Rumours are pointing towards the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise being the first to be introduced to the battle royale.

Here’s everything we know about the potential Fortnite x TMNT collaboration.

What was the leak about Fortnite x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover?

The leak first came from a recent episode of The XboxEra Podcast on January 8, where co-host Nick "Shpeshal_Nick" Baker revealed he had heard from a source that Epic Games have signed a deal with Paramount Pictures for some new Fortnite crossovers.

While this could lead to various crossovers with Paramount, Baker noted that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was one of the main collaborations in the pipeline under the reported deal.

This would not be the first time that characters Michelangelo, Donatello, Raphael, and Leonardo have appeared in a video game, having previously featured in free-to-play multiplayer game Smite.

Aside from the titular characters, we might also see some other characters from the TMNT franchise arrive in the battle royale, including Splinter, Shredder, Casey Jones, Krang, April O’Neil, Bebop, and Rocksteady.

What can we expect from the deal between Paramount and Epic Games?

There have been no other claims of the Epic Games and Paramount deal mentioned on The XboxEra Podcast. No further details about the type of cosmetics or release date have been confirmed about the TMNT crossover either.

The Paramount deal if it goes ahead could also lead to other crossovers that bring franchises like Transformers to Fortnite.

For now, however, we don't have any verified information, with only leaks and rumours to go by. Best to hold tight and hope for the best until Epic Games officially confirm all of this.
