After Life season three is on its way to Netflix, with the new episodes arriving on January 14. Ricky Gervais returns for one last time as Tony Johnson, as he attempts to come to terms with his wife’s death. Express.co.uk has all you need to know about what time the final season will arrive.

Local journalist Tony returns in the Netflix melodrama as he continues to mourn his late wife.
While he struggles to get himself back on track, his attitude towards the rest of the world is changing.
Will he be able to forgive the world for taking away the one thing he cared about before the series ends?
The series has captured the hearts of fans across the globe and they are already feeling emotional about the finale.
For viewers in the US, they can access the new episodes from midnight on January 14.
Those watching in the UK will have to wait until 8am, but all of the episodes will drop at the same time.
A total of six episodes will tell the final chapter of Tony’s story.
Ashley Jensen will make a comeback as Emma, with Kerry Godliman as Lisa and Diane Morgan as Kath.
Gervais confirmed in a live chat on Twitter that season three would be the last.
The trailer shows Tony scattering his father’s ashes as he comes to terms with more death in his life.
Critics have already showered the final season with plenty of praise.
Grant Stott said on Twitter: Having watched all 6 eps on the new series of #AfterLife (for reviewing purposes) I’d say not just 6 funny eps (which it is) but it’s like the perfect third chapter in one big funny, sad, touching, awkward story told over three series.”
The series has acted as a guiding light for many viewers who have lost close family members themselves.
They have been sharing their stories with the actor and comedian, thanking him for telling a story of grief in such a candid way.
Opening up about the final series, Gervais told Deadline: “It was a year of anxiety, thinking whether it would it go ahead.
“But we didn’t drop a minute due to Covid. Honestly. Everyone tested all the time and no one tested positive.
“It didn’t slow anything down. It was good.”
He was able to spend plenty of time perfecting the final episodes as some of his comedy gigs had been postponed to due Covid.
The star added: “It’s probably the best, most complete screenplay of anything I’ve ever written.
“I had more time to hone it, more time to troubleshoot.”
Fans have taken to Twitter to express their excitement ahead of the season three release.
Otis the parrot said: “Counting down the hours until we can watch #AfterLife3 Be sure to tune in!!! I hope you break the internet @rickygervais.”
Nicole Capensis added: “Trailer got me teary. #AfterLife is amazing. Do some good while you’re alive. Hedging bets on heavenly redemption is not for me.”
The Ross Owen Show said: “My mum is 80. The reason she loves #afterlife so much is because it helps her deal with the loss of my dad. She’ll be waiting in front of the tv tomorrow for the final instalment of #afterlife on Netflix.”
