TANGUY NDOMBELE and Tottenham could be priced out of a parting of the ways this month.
The club record £65million buy is eyeing a move after he was booed by their own fans following his latest flop in Sunday’s FA Cup win over Morecambe.
Spurs want to offload the expensive midfield misfit but there are currently no clubs willing or able to splash out on the player, who has struggled with form and fitness since joining from Lyon in the summer of 2019.
Ndombele, 25, still has three and a half years left to run on his £200,000-a-week deal and Spurs will have to take a massive financial hit if they consider loan moves or part-exchange deals.
The French star was booed by Spurs fans for walking off the pitch at snail’s pace when he was subbed at 69 minutes on Sunday with League One Morecambe leading 1-0.
This fresh debacle came just a week or so after new Tottenham boss Antonio Conte said he had to be a team player.
When asked last week about Ndombele’s future role in his squad, the Italian’s scathing reply was just: “He’s a midfielder, I think.”
It appears Conte’s patience has now run out but even he seemed to realise it might not be possible just to dump Ndombele this month, as after the win over Morecambe he called upon him to 'change opinions'.
