During the Christmas period and for the elegant festive events, the Duchess of Cambridge always looks glamorous but opts for traditional and appropriate looks. However, other European royals are also considered style icons during the festivities.
The Duchess of Cambridge always opts for a traditional style during the festive period.
She wears elegant but comfortable pieces, adding a touch of colour perhaps with a statement coat or accessories.
Stylist and fashion expert Melita Latham said: “It’s quite impossible not to be inspired by Kate’s Christmas outfits.
“Kate looks absolutely stunning as she walks out wearing her Sunday best.
“What I love the most is the pop of Christmas colours that she adds to all of her outfits.”
She continued: “Kate looks are very much reminiscent of Princess Diana’s Christmas choices.
“Remember in 2019 Kate matched Princess Charlotte’s pine green coat using small details of festivity whilst wearing her grey coat.
“Her clutch bag, fascinator and shoes all matched little Charlotte’s coat, very sweet and very festive.
“This is generally what we can expect from Kate. Tartan’s, berries, plums and (mulled) wine tones.”
Melita explained: “We have seen a number of tartan outfits over the years at Christmas worn by the royals.
“This is an opportunity for Kate to add a touch of the festive season to her outfits whilst her attire being practical and most importantly keeping her warm as we reach single figure temperatures.
“The Miu Miu coat dress with her black furry hat screamed ‘Happy Holidays’.
“Her tartan scarf paired with her forest green tailored coat, red tartan scarf with her Alexander McQueen coat, the traditional tartan will always make an appearance in someway.”
Other European royals, however, are also considered style icons with Queen Letizia of Spain, along with her daughter’s Princess Leonor and Princess Sofia, crowning the list of the best-dressed.
Miranda Holder, TV and celebrity fashion expert commented on the Spanish, monarch’s festive style.
“Queen Letizia cuts a very elegant, slightly more ostentatious figure during her public appearances, and often favours a warmer colour palette than her British counterparts.
“Princesses Leonor and Sofia of Spain are again, smaller versions of their beautiful mother.
“We often see rich ochres, terracottas and burnt oranges grace the two Spanish princesses and their style is moderately more contemporary and fashion forward.
“For me, Princess Leonor and Sofia strike the perfect sartorial balance between formal and feminine, but they are not afraid to be a little playful with what they wear, which only makes them more magnetic.
“It will be a pleasure to watch them grow into young ladies and see their style blossom further,” Miranda said.
