IT is still not known how a police officer and his toddler son died in a suspected murder-suicide – four months later.
David Louden, 39, and three-year-old Harrison were discovered at home in Worcestershire in August after cutting a holiday short.
Detectives probing the double death riddle believe PC Louden killed his little boy before taking his own life – but a post mortem has yet to establish how.
Worcestershire's Senior Coroner David Reid said at an inquest into their deaths that in both cases, "a post mortem has yet to ascertain a medical cause of death pending further investigations", BirminghamLive reports.
However, officers are "satisfied that not other parties were involved".
The details, which have only just emerged, were unveiled so funerals for PC Louden and Harrison could take place on September 2.
PC Louden was a serving cop with West Mercia Police when he and his son were found at their £210,000 semi-detached home in Kidderminster.
Worried relatives raised the alarm after the dad reportedly cut a holiday short.
Sadly, their bodies were discovered by PC Louden's distraught colleagues shortly before 9.30am on August 13.

Initially, the deaths were "unexplained" but they are now being investigated as a murder-suicide.
PC Louden's heartbroken wife Samantha, also a police officer, previously paid tribute to her "amazing" husband.
In a family statement issued by police, they described him as a "kind, loving, considerate, amazing father, husband, son, brother, uncle, friend and colleague".
They said little Harrison was a "happy, well-loved little boy," adding: "They will both be forever missed and loved."
Full inquests into their deaths are due to take place on April 13, 2022.
'DREADFULLY SAD CASE'
Assistant Chief Constable Damian Barratt said in August: "David Louden (39) and his three year-old son, Harrison, were tragically found dead at their home in Kidderminster on Friday 13 August 2021.
"At the time the deaths were treated as unexplained and investigation was launched into the circumstances.
"We, West Mercia Police, are now treating the death of Harrison as a suspected murder and the death of David as a suspected suicide.
"Post mortems have now taken place and the investigation team, in conjunction with the Coroner, are satisfied that no other parties were involved.
"However, safeguarding reviews are now underway and there will be an inquest to provide an official determination, so we are unable to comment any further at this time in relation to the circumstances or the investigation.
"This is a dreadfully sad case and our thoughts are with David and Harrison’s family and friends.
"They have requested that they be allowed to grieve and will not be providing any further comment to the media at this time."
