Great British Bake Off: Maggie is booted from the show

Great British Bake Off: Maggie is booted from the show after forgetting to put FLOUR in her sticky toffee pudding… leaving astounded viewers branding it ‘an iconic disaster’

Maggie has been booted from The Great British Bake Off.

The former midwife, 70, was eliminated from the show on Tuesday night, after suffering a series of disasters – including a faux pas with sticky toffee puddings.

The amateur baker left flour out of her batch of puddings, leaving one viewer branding it ‘an iconic disaster’ on Twitter.

Flour power: Maggie has been booted from The Great British Bake Off

Maggie – who comes from Dorset – claimed that the instructions to use flour in the pudding recipe were over the page, and that she didn’t see it.

To make matters worse, her showstopper cake imploded before she presented it to judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.

Prue tried to cheer Maggie with her feedback on the cake, telling her it was a nice colour and ‘tastes like summer’.

But as it was presented in a heap, it was the final nail in the coffin for Maggie.
