UK internet users who are trying to stream TV shows and movies for free may have a shock. Some of the biggest Internet Service Providers (ISPs) including BT, Sky and Virgin Media have just been forced to ban customers from visiting over a dozen websites that were offering premium content for free.

The ban has been imposed by the Motion Picture Association Europe whose members include Netflix, Sony Pictures, Walt Disney Studios and Warner Bros. A total of 19 sites are now inaccessible in the UK with a service called Soap2day.to one of the biggest names to be banned.

This hugely popular site boasts some 60 million visits per month but anyone who accesses the web via the UK’s main ISPs will now find the page blocked.

For example, those with a Virgin Media account will see the message “Sorry, this page is not available through Virgin Media. Virgin Media has received an order from the High Court requiring us to prevent access to this site.”

Speaking to TorrentFreak about the block, the MPA said: “Piracy harms everyone involved in the creative process – from writers, directors, and producers to cast and crew. It also harms consumers by exposing families to malware, identity theft and fraud.

“We plan to continue working with authorities across the region to implement these and other appropriate legal remedies in support of a safer and healthier online environment.”

Here’s the full list of illegal streaming sites that have now been blocked.

1movies.best, azm.to, bflix.to, couchtuners.co, couchtuner.fashion, couchtuner.guru, couchtuner.stream, fmovie.sc, lookmovie.io, moviesjoy.to, myflixer.to, series9.ac, soap2day.to, vidcloud9.com, vumoo.to, watchmovie.movie, watchsomuch.tv, yesmovies.net, and yify-movies.net.

This latest ban from the MPA comes just months after it enforced another block on UK consumers.

Back in February millions of broadband customers were stopped from visiting a number of hugely popular sites that provided easy access to free illegal streams. The sites feature in this that ban included www9.0123movies.com, w5.123movie.cc, 123moviesfun.is, and wvw1.123movies.net.

Films hosted by these sites are often illegal to watch but the fact you could view for free meant they attract millions of users. According to the latest stats, 0123Movies.com and 123movies.net both boasted millions of visits per month with a quarter of all visitors online coming from the UK.
