Harry Redknapp is 'excited' to become a granddad again and says Jamie's ex Louise is doing 'great' after the baby news

HARRY Redknapp is relishing his granddad role once more as son Jamie will soon welcome his first child with girlfriend Frida Andersson.

Yet the former football manager, 74, won't be getting too hands on, according to his wife Sandra.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun, the couple told how they were “excited” to become grandparents again.

It was revealed in May how ex football player Jamie, 47, would be welcoming a child with the Swedish model four years after his split with wife Louise in 2017.

Yet Harry confirmed to The Sun all was well with the exes, who share two sons together.

He said the couple are still in touch with the Eternal singer and the rest of the family, and all they are doing "great."

Yet despite his excitement about the new addition to the family, Sandra joked Harry wouldn't be changing nappies.

She quipped: "You didn’t do it before!"

Previously, Harry told how he is chuffed about the new arrival and said to TalkRadio: "I'm really pleased, it's good news and looking forward to that, it's exciting times."

The I'm A Celeb winner also opened up about how he loves taking his grandkids to the football, but is sure not to put his manager hat on when watching them play.

Meanwhile, catwalk star Frida is three months pregnant with her baby with Jamie due in November.

Former England and Liverpool footballer Jamie is already dad to Charley, 16, and Beau, 12, from his marriage to singer Louise, 46.

Frida, 37, has four children from her marriage to US hedge fund manager Jonathan Lourie.

A source said: “Jamie and Frida are absolutely delighted.

“They’ve been virtually inseparable in lockdown, and their relationship has gone from strength to strength.

“The couple started telling their nearest and dearest last week.

“Jamie’s been telling pals he’s really excited to be a dad again — less excited about the sleepless nights, and nappy-changing. But both he and Frida will be brilliant, hands-on parents.”

Meanwhile Harry and Sandra are now aiming to be more eco-friendly with a new eco home in Poole.

Harry admits his generation “never thought about” green energy but now the couple are keen to leave a better world for their two children and five grandchildren.

He added: "It’s important, isn’t it? Anything we can do to help the environment, we’ll do it, for sure."

Harry and Sandra Redknapp have teamed up with Smart Energy GB to encourage everyone to do their bit for the environment, help Britain reach net zero, and build a cleaner more efficient energy system, all by getting a smart meter installed from their energy supplier at no additional cost.
