Singer Miley Cyrus is turning heads for a brand-new deal she signed with NBCUniversal. The pop star has signed an overall talent and development deal with NBCUniversal Television and Streaming.
The agreement was reached between NBCU Television and Streaming as well as Miley’s unnamed production company and mother Tish Cyrus’ production company, Hopetown Entertainment, which she founded in 2010, PEOPLE notes. Together, the collaborators will create a variety of scripted and unscripted projects for NBCU’s outlets, which include Bravo, E!, and of course, Peacock.

Though the details of Miley’s role as still largely unclear at this time, it’s being reported that the deal gives her the creative freedom to participate in the projects in a number of ways, including producing, performing, and hosting.
According to Billboard, the deal includes a development element as well as three confirmed specials that will star Miley. While two of the specials are being kept in the dark, details of the first have already been released. Miley has committed to appearing in a one-hour Pride concert special, titled Stand by You, which will stream exclusively on Peacock. The singer will reportedly give a rendition of her biggest hits with a pride-themed twist. The special was apparently already been filmed in Nashville.
NBCU’s Chairman of Entertainment Content, Susan Rovner, addressed the new deal publicly. She described the Miley’s Peacock Pride special as the “perfect way” to begin the media company’s partnership with the superstar. Without giving away any concrete details, she added that the “creative possibilities” between NBCU and Miley are “endless.”
Miley also released a statement to the media confirming the news. She said she’s looking forward to a “long-lasting relationship with NBC for years.” She encouraged her fans to tune into her Pride special on Peacock. This is hardly the first collaboration Miley has had with NBCU, though, as PEOPLE points out, the singer acted as a judge on The Voice in its 11th and 13th season.
Miley isn’t the only big celebrity NBCU has recently signed new partnerships with. Only two months ago, it was reported that singer Meghan Trainor signed a major overall deal with NBCUniversal Television and Streaming Entertainment. Part of the deal includes the development of a sitcom for NBC, though the concept for the show and any of its details has yet to be confirmed. Like Miley’s deal, Meghan is expected to produce a variety of scripted and unscripted content for NBCU’s outlets for which she may take on a variety of roles.
