Katie Price ‘taking part in Celebrity MasterChef’ to reboot prime time TV career

Katie Price is gearing up to make her prime time return to the small screen during the upcoming series of Celebrity Masterchef, according to reports.

The businesswoman is believed to have started filming this week and is eager to show off her culinary skills as she's put through her paces.

Katie, 42, is no stranger to the kitchen, often cooking a variety of different meals in her bustling home for her five children which will no doubt put her in good stead for her stint on the show.

It's said that the former Page 3 model is prepared to tackle whatever is thrown at her under the intense heat.

Speaking to The Sun, an insider said: "Katie's really excited for people to see a different side to her – she's actually a really good cook, and wants to show off her kitchen skills.

"She won't crumble under the pressure of cooking for Gregg Wallace and John Torode, because she has to cook for five fussy kids every night."

Katie's appearance on Celebrity MasterChef comes just weeks after her BBC One documentary, Katie Price: Harvey & Me, which allowed viewers to see a different side to her, as she cared for her eldest child, Harvey, 18.

Harvey lives with autism, Prader-Willi Syndrome and partial blindness, which requires dedicated attention and medical appointments.

The star is also believed to be working on a documentary which will see her as she trains to become a first response volunteer, after dreaming of working with paramedics and medical teams.

She is also no stranger to appearing on television, having worked as a Loose Women panellist, as well as two stints in the famous I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! jungle and an appearance on Celebrity Big Brother, eventually being crowned queen of the house in 2015.

In the past, Katie has also appeared on 17 reality television shows with her former husband, Peter Andre, as well as her own show on Quest Red, which she parted ways from after three seasons.

The last season of Celebrity MasterChef was won by YouTuber and social media influencer Riyadh Khalaf.

Celebrity MasterChef will broadcast on BBC One later this year.

Daily Star has approached a spokesperson for Katie Price and the BBC for comment.
