Queen of the South: Alice Braga teases season five filming
Queen of the South follows Teresa Mendoza (played by Alice Braga), a woman who has struggled from a poor money changer to now running her own drug cartel. As the flash-forwards have shown, Teresa will become one of the most successful dealers in the world but her story will not have a happily ever after. As she continues to rise to the top, the USA Network drama is beginning to inch closer to this future.
WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Queen of the South.
In the first scene of Queen of the South, Teresa is shown as the ultimate queenpin, dropped off at a luxurious mansion via helicopter, surrounded by bodyguards and oozing superiority.
But the fantasy is quickly shattered as she is shot in the head in her lavish bathroom but the identity of who killed Teresa remains a secret.
Since then, fans have watched how she has managed to stay alive while continuously threatened by Don Epifanion (Joaquim del Almeida) and later Camila Vargas (Veronica Falcon), among other enemies.
The end of season four started to show fans how she will soon expand her drug empire across America.

Will Queen of the South end after season 5?
In the latest season, Teresa met Russian dealer Oksana Volkova (Vera Cherny), who isn’t exactly the friendliest of women to do business with.
Nevertheless, Oksana could be the key to getting Teresa’s cartel to the top.
The two fierce women were able to make a deal whereby Oksana would use her close ties to the Russian mob in New York to help sell Teresa’s product.
If everything does go to plan, then Teresa could finally become the internationally recognised queenpin she has been destined to be since the very beginning.
Peter Gadiot who plays James Valdez has now also teased the fact the end could be nigh for Queen of the South.

Gadiot took to Instagram yesterday, Wednesday, December 9, to share a backstage picture of himself getting ready to shoot the new episodes.
The selfie shows Gadiot in character as James, along with the caption: “The neck tat is back.”
However, what really grabbed fans’ attention was one of the hashtags the star decided to use.
Along with “Queen of the South”, “Season five” and “on set”, Gadiot used the hashtag “one last time”.
Does this mean the USA Network and Netflix drama will finish after season five?

One fan on Instagram replied: “Yes! But what you mean #onlasttime? Noooo lol”.
While others on Reddit questioned if this means the end of Queen of the South or the death of James in the drama.
A Reddit user commented: “I wonder what he means by one last time.
“Does it mean he appear in certain number of episode this season or S5 might be the last season.
“If he dies, it’s sucks. It would pointless to have him come back just to have his character kill off.”
While a second added: “I’m going to be so mad if he’s barely in this season or his character dies.
“I mean what was the point of him coming back if he’s in just 4 episodes or his character dies.”
So far, there has been no talk of season five being the last series of Queen of the South.
But this doesn’t mean the drama will definitely continue after this as USA Network has neither renewed nor cancelled the series.
For now though, fans have got another lot of new episodes to look forward to with the cast and crew currently in the middle of filming.
A release date for series five has not yet been announced.
Queen of the South is available to watch on Netflix.
