Bonnie Langford rose to fame as a child star back in the 1970s and has since become a well-known face on our screens. She played Mel Bush, the companion of both the sixth and seventh doctors on Dr Who in the 1980s, and more recently appeared in EastEnders, but what is known of the actress’s love life?

Bonnie is not currently married having split with her ex-husband Paul Grunert in 2015.

Ahead of her debut on the show, she said in an interview: “I’ve just got divorced, but I’m alright. Going on EastEnders was perfect timing for me.”

On the long-running soap, Bonnie played Carmel Kazemi but went on to leave her role in 2018.

At the time of her departure, she said: “I’ve had a wonderful three-and-a-half years at EastEnders, and it’s been a privilege to be part of such an iconic show.

“My storyline has been such an incredible experience, and I’m honoured to be part of something so powerful and poignant.

“However, I’ve known since the beginning of this storyline it would always lead to Carmel having to take a break from Walford.”

Bonnie and Paul first met Paul in 1987 when they appeared alongside another in the same musical.

In 2006, Bonnie opened up on how she and Paul first hit it off to the Mirror.

The EastEnders actress said: “I’d known Paul since 1987 when we’d done a show together.
