WhatsApp is set to change the messaging game once again with a massive new feature.
A new system revamp will be rolled out for all of its 2 billion users this week that many will love – but you can opt out.
As part of a major overhaul, WhatsApp is set to offer the ability to have messages disappear.
After a week of being stored, notes will vanish, according to Birmingham Live.
The platform said it was designing an option to make conversations feel lighter and “more private”.
WhatsApp said it wanted to make users feel as though conversations are “as close to in-person as possible”.
So messages “shouldn’t have to stick around for ever”.
The company confirmed that either user can activate the feature for themselves, while in group conversations the admin user will have control.
A statement explained: “We're starting with seven days because we think it offers peace of mind that conversations aren't permanent, while remaining practical so you don't forget what you were chatting about.
"The shopping list or store address you received a few days ago will be there while you need it, and then disappear after you don’t.

“While it’s great to hold on to memories from friends and family, most of what we send doesn’t need to be everlasting.
"Our goal is to make conversations on WhatsApp feel as close to in-person as possible, which means they shouldn’t have to stick around forever.”
Unopened messages will also disappear after a week, but previews may still remain until the platform is opened.
The firm added that quoted text used for replies will remain visible even after the original message has disappeared.
But there is nothing to stop anyone taking a screenshot of what you send – so you’ll have to trust your friends if you expect something you say to fade away over time.
The new feature will be rolled out to users this month, WhatsApp said.
Users might notice the new feature from this week, as it began roll out on Thursday, according to reports.
It brings WhatsApp more in line with competitors such as Signal in offering flexibility – but there is no way to change the length of messages being stored.
The new feature comes after WhatsApp launched a shopping service, integrating itself with closely with its owners Facebook.
